The Eco-Agroforestry Network aims to bring the sustainable agroforestry approach into the mainstream of UK food, fuel, timber, and fibre production, through research, dissemination, and policy change.
In the UK, agroforestry as a multifunctional land-use system has not realised its full potential. Limited awareness of agroforestry among farmers, reinforced by a lack of policy and advisory support, has restricted uptake, and empirical research is needed to provide the evidence to support the promotion of agroforestry in the UK. We have established an ‘eco-agroforestry’ network that aims to promote an organic and agro-ecological agroforestry approach into the mainstream through research, dissemination and policy changes.
