22nd April is Earth Day 2022 – a global call to action while there is still time to solve the climate crisis. Time to choose both a prosperous and sustainable future, and time to restore nature and build a healthy planet for our children and their children.
The theme for Earth Day 2022 is ‘Invest In Our Planet’ and that is what we asking you to do by supporting our Climate Friendly Farming Campaign.
No-one is more aware of climate change than the farming community. Unseasonal weather having an adverse impact on crops is almost an annual occurrence, but intensive farming techniques are part of the problem – 10% of the EU’s total greenhouse gas emissions are linked to agriculture. If we are to feed ourselves and save the planet, something has to change.
It is our aim to enable that change. We are working to expand climate friendly farming in the UK by providing farmers with science-based evidence and practical guides to demonstrate that they can change how they farm the land and still run a successful business. A business that could become a positive force towards climate change.
From 22-29 April ORC is taking part in the Green Match Fund Campaign 2022, organised by the Big Give – the UK’s biggest online match funding platform, to raise funds to further this work. During the campaign week any money raised up to £10,000 will be doubled.
