Last chance to support our Feed The Soil appeal

A huge thank you to everyone that supported our Feed The Soil appeal as part of the of the 2024 Big Give Green Match Fund campaign week in April. With support from The Land Gardeners we raised a whopping £66,000 which includes the match funding from The Mark Leonard Trust and The Reed Foundation – an incredible result and the most we have raised through the Big Give platform.

The funds raised will go towards our Feed the Soil project, set up in response to the current interest among farmers, both conventional and organic, in using compost and compost products (extracts, teas) for soil health improvement. They would like more solid evidence on the impacts of different composting methods on soil health and crop production. This project aims to address this need and ultimately provide impartial advice and guidance to farmers on how best to manage and use organic wastes for soil improvement on their farms.

The project is budgeted at £200,000 and is anticipated to be delivered over 2 years. With seed funding received from Rothschild Foundation for a literature review, donations received via the Big Give Green Match Fund and a very generous donation from an anonymous supporter we are short of our project target by £20,000.

To secure resources and sites for field testing we need to raise the final £20,000 by the end of May 2024! Can you help us make that happen in just one week?

If you didn’t get the chance to donate* as part of the Big Give or would just like to find out more about the project click here.

*please note now that the Big Give campaign has ended there is no longer the opportunity to have your donation doubled.
