Under-sowing, companion cropping and min-till for maize

AHDB event. Jerry Alford (Soil Association) will share his knowledge from research into inter-row cropping, under sowing and companion cropping. He will also share results from field trials exploring establishing maize without ploughing.

This event will cover

  • Cereal and legume cropping
  • The benefits of inter-cropping
  • Barriers to inter-cropping and their solutions
  • Examples of species mixes
  • Alternatives to ploughing for establishing maize

Registration and refreshments will be available from 10:00am with presentations commencing at 10:30 am. Lunch will be provided.

Please bring suitable footwear and clothing for a field walk (weather permitting).

The event is free to attend, but please book a place to allow us to cater accordingly.

BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.
