Future Farming Resilience: farming support payments for arable farms

Event Date : September 12, 2024

Event Time : 10:30 am - 3:00 pm

Event Location : Bradwell Grove, Burford OX18 4JP

Join the Soil Association at Bradwell Grove Farm for a day of support focused towards arable farmers: consisting of an information session on new payment schemes, lunch provided and a farm walk led by our hosts at the Bradwell Grove Estate, by kind permission of the Heyworth Family.

Bradwell Grove grows primarily oat, wheat, spelt and barley and transitioned to an organic approach in 2005, and you will be joining us for a farm walk to understand the techniques used at Bradwell Grove in their approach to organic farming.

Under the Defra Future Farming Resilient Fund, Soil Association’s Farming and Land Use Team are running a series of support events for farmers on payment options available within the Sustainable Farming Incentive and Countryside Stewardship schemes.

You’ll hear more about:

• The latest announcements made by Defra around the Sustainable Farming Incentive and Countryside Stewardship schemes for arable farming, including the effect on current scheme holders and payments.

• How organic or low input farming can make the most of changes to support payments.

• What to consider when applying for new schemes.

• Soil Association’s full offer of support, including follow up one-to-one sessions.
