Environmental Land Management: consultation reopens

Make your voice heard on Defra’s new proposals for Environmental Land Management

Defra have reopened the Environmental Land Management (ELM) Policy Discussion Document (PDD) on CitizenSpace. The PDD sets out Defra’s initial thinking for ELM scheme design, providing an update on progress and overview of high-level design options. There are key questions in the document on which they would like stakeholder views and evidence. The closing date for responses is 31st July 2020.

The responses they receive to this document will help to inform the detailed scheme design for both the ELM scheme starting in 2024, and the start of a National Pilot in late 2021. We encourage you to share your insights and make organic voices heard.

They will be running interactive online seminars for farmers, foresters and land managers in England, to discuss what their proposals mean for you. These will be held on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, 1st July – 12:00-1:30 pm
  • Tuesday, 7th July – 6:00-7:30 pm
  • Thursday, 16th July – 8:30-10:00 am
  • Thursday, 23rd July – 12:00-1:30 pm
