Local social to bring together people from our local agroecology community; to connect, share ideas and seeds!
Building on interest from the Landworkers Alliance Winter Social in December and Kernow Real Farming Conference in January this meet up aims to gather people working towards more resilient agroecological farming systems. This is an opportunity to meet each other, share experiences and discuss ideas for the future.
Loveland Community Field
We will meet at Loveland, a 10 acre community field, seeking to provide space for food production, people and nature. Integrating community gardening with the first year of commercial vegetable production using a mix of till and no dig growing. Members of the group will share some of their plans for diverse production including vegetables, herbs, community orchard, agroforestry, pick-your-own flowers and small scale heritage cereals and pulses. Discussing experiences and ideas for community engagement, social prescribing and multi-functional use of the space. Providing an opportunity for all to share knowledge, ideas and suggestions for the future.
Falmouth Food Coop
After the tour we will head over to the Falmouth Food Coop social eating space at the Princess Pavilion, to grab a cuppa and continue the conversations. There will be chance to explore ideas for future gatherings, skills and knowledge sharing in our local agroecology network. We will also hear more about the Falmouth Food Coop Kitchen and Food Hub sourcing from local agroecological producers for meal delivery and grocery collections.
Seed Swap
The Pavilion lobby will also be set up for a Seed Swap from 4.30. Please bring any seeds you have in envelopes marked with the variety and date saved or bought (if known).
This event is a collaboration between the Landworkers Alliance, Organic Research Centre, Agricology, Falmouth Food Coop and Organic Growers Alliance
