National Organic Cereals 2011

Event Date : July 7, 2011

The 2010 event saw 230 people meet up for a day on an organic arable farm in Hampshire. Talks were given on subjects ranging from organic arable experience, organic agronomy to organic sales data and market reports.
Adam Henson, Cotswold farmer and presenter on BBC Countryfile, did a magnificent job of Chairing the afternoon Organic Question Time and the discussions were lively and informative.
A full seed trial was drilled especially for our event and we hosted 24 indoor trade stands and 7 outdoor exhibitors. We will be going round the crop trials in groups for the 2011 event due to the large numbers of delegates.

We have great pleasure in announcing that National Organic Cereals 2011 will take place on 7th July at Clive Martin’s farm in March in Cambridgeshire.

Clive is growing organic and non-organic crops on a 1600 acre holding. The organic side produces both cereals and vegetables. Clive has invested a lot of time, energy and finance into the unit with some very modern buildings, a state-of-the-art packhouse and a very well run operation under his own brand, HolmSelect.

We can also now tell you that BBC Farming Today host Charlotte Smith has agreed to be the Chair for the 2011 event. Her reports are known for her clear and no-nonsense approach which has helped earn her a formidable reputation as a journalist who cares about British farming and the countryside.

I am now asking for companies/organisations wishing to support/take part in National Organic Cereals 2011 to declare their interest in this useful, popular and growing event.
