EC launches public consultation

The European Commissionís consultation, which runs from 15 Jan to 10 April 2013, concerns the organic regulation and is aimed at all citizens, organisations and public authorities who are concerned by a review of the European policy on organic agriculture are welcome to contribute to this consultation.

Earlier this year, the Commission published a report on the application of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 (PDF 65 kb) and announced a process of evaluating and review how the organic regulation can develop in the future. †

As part of their fact finding the European Commission has launched an online consultationaimed at public all citizens interested in organic production in Europe.

The consultations covers important issues such as pesticide and GMO residues and there is a possibility to upload additional information. It is possible to send them your comments as well.

The Commission has also commissioned an external evaluation of the organic regulation that ORC is involved with.
