The Organic Research Centre at Elm Farm, Hamstead Marshall, is pleased to announce its second summer festival, featuring good organic and local food and drink, crafts, entertainment, live music and much more.

Come and join us at Elm Farm on Saturday 9th July where there’s something for everyone at the Organic Research Centre, Hamstead Marshall, near Newbury RG20 0HR. For the second year running we will be opening our doors to all for a summer festival of organic and local food, crafts, and traditional village fete and party with live music from 11 am to 10 pm.

In the courtyard, you are invited to browse around the market stalls featuring local producers of quality food and delicious things to eat and drink. Find out more about the fresh food produced locally and the care taken to bring you the very best produce.

In the 18th Century refurbished barn, there will be food workshops and a Slow Food Adventure - take the opportunity to learn something new and get ‘hands on’ with food.

In the farmhouse garden, be inspired by the country crafts on display, featuring woodwork, weaving, basket making, candles, handbags and much more. There will be interesting craft demonstrations and charming handmade goods to buy.

Refreshments and hot and cold food will be served all day featuring the Hamstead Marshall village cafe and the White Hart grill and bar - the White Hart reopens its doors on 20th July after a major refurbishment and are offering a foretaste of things to come with local, organic and vegetarian sausages and burgers - they’re tasty, try one!

This year the event includes the Hamstead Marshall village fete with traditional fun and games for all. For the children there is a bouncy castle, face painting, traditional games, a bug hunt and a small animal farm.

As the afternoon draws to a close and the market traders pack up for the day, enjoy a drink and relax to music by local jazz, folk and contemporary bands as the village party gets into full swing. Attractions for the evening include a hog roast and bar. Add to the mix the popular band Got it Covered and Hamstead Marshall will be rocking.

Daytime entrance £2.50 per adult, children under 16 free, sorry, no dogs. Free parking. The event has also been generously sponsored by the White Hart and by Jon Phillips of Whitehill farm.
